Shimla (Himachal Pradesh)

Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh.  

Shimla was made summer capital and army headquarters[1865-1939].

From 1947-1953 it was headquarters of Punjab state, until the new capital city of Chandigarh  was completed.
