Classical Language

The Government of India decided to create new category of 'Clasical Language' (2004) and laid down the criteria for conferring the classical language status (2006).

At present six language:- Tamil(2004), Sanskrit(2005), Telugu(2008), Kannada (2008), Malayalam(2013), & odia(2014) are granted the classical language status.
