A false report that was spreading on social media platforms asserting that the deadline for submitting Income Tax Returns (ITRs) had been further extended from September 15 to September 30 has been rejected by the Income Tax Department. The Department stated on social media that this month's 15th is still the formal deadline for reporting ITRs.
