Ganges river system

The origin of Ganga river is from 'Gangotri Glacier' near 'Gomukh' in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Here Ganges is called Bhagirathi.

The longest tributary river of Ganges is Yamuna. Chambal, Betwa and Ken tributary river of the Yamuna.

Ganges is known as Padma in Bangladesh. Padma confluence with Brahmaputra (which is known as Jamuna in Bangladesh) falls in the Bay of Bengal. Ganges is the largest river of the India.

River Ganges and Brahmaputra form 'Sundarban delta' which is the longest delta in the world.
