Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad)

 Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad)is the informal strategic dialogue between India, USA, Japan and Australia.

Objective: to ensure and support a “free, open and prosperous” Indo-Pacific region.

News: The Prime Minister addressed the first summit of the leaders of the QUAD (Quadrilateral Framework). The meeting was hosted by the USA on a virtual platform.

India’s Stand: Called the meet an extension of the ancient Indian philosophy ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, which regards the world as one family.

Background: back in 2004 Tsunami when India conducted relief and rescue operations for itself and neighbouring countries and was joined by Japan, the US and Australia.
